Check out what's happening at P.S. 212!

P.S. 212 Principal’s Message.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy New Year! I hope you and your families enjoyed a restful and joyful winter break. As we welcome our students back to school, we are excited to begin a new year full of learning, growth, and opportunities.

January is an important time for setting goals and re-establishing routines. Our teachers are already hard at work helping students review expectations, strengthen academic skills, and build positive classroom communities. We encourage families to support students by ensuring they arrive at school on time, get plenty of rest, and continue practicing good habits at home.

This month, students will be engaging in meaningful lessons across all subject areas while also focusing on kindness, responsibility, and perseverance. We are proud of the effort our students show each day and truly appreciate the partnership we share with our families.

Please join us on February 4, 2026, for a family fun event in the gym!  It is a FROZEN theme and will include face painting, snacks, dancing, photo booth and bouncy houses!   2:45 pm – 4:15 pm (Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult).

Towards the end of this month, we are excited to begin our Saturday Academic and Enrichment program! Notices will be sent home the week of January 12, 2026 and should be returned promptly so that  your child can participate.

More Great news!  Based on parental feedback we have made every effort to recently expand our Afterschool CBO program partnership with NIA and have asked them to add 50 student K-5 seats. Please contact our parent coordinator, Ilia Liff  Iliff@schools.nyc.gov or 347- 563-4628 if you need more information or visit our website www.ps212brooklyn.org for the QR link to register for NIA.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement. We look forward to a wonderful start to 2026 and a successful second half of the school year.  Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information or with any questions or concerns!

Warm regards,

Rina Horne

Principal
